Vera Huggins |
Vera Huggins joined Doultons in 1923 as a designer. Her work was shown all over the world and won acclaim from all.

Her output changed from the early floral tube-lined and glazed vase we show, via the tall vase with the incised leaf decoration to the more monochrome, but textured vase, that was typical of her later years at Doulton.

She was instrumental in leading the designs at Doulton from the traditional glazed items to the less formal and more rustic items that we now label ‘studio pottery’. The image below shows Vera Huggin's 'VH' signaute mark for Doultons.
