Mary Goode

Mary Goode monogram

Mary Goode is listed in the Doulton archives as being a Senior Assistant in 1882. The item we show dates from after 1891 as the word ‘England’ appears on the impressed Doulton Siliconware mark.

Ceramic by Doulton's Mary Goode

Items such as this one would have been made to the design of one of the more senior artists, by one or more assistants. The whole item with the exception of the silver rim is made of fired clay, and required considerable skill on the part of the person modelling the clay and glazing it.
