Kate Davis is listed as being a Senior Assistant in 1882. Little more is known of her. The piece we show is probably almost a ‘training piece’.
A 3.25 inch diameter vase by Kate Davis
It was made (1879) before she became a Senior Assistant, when the top designers were taking the soft clay and making patterns and designs by incision or sgraffito. The charming little vase by Kate Davis is entirely the result of applied stylised flowers.
